Just counted…
It’s official.
We’ve reached ONE THOUSAND items turned in for the BSD Project!
I can admit it.
There’s been a little bit of happy dancing going on here in my :ahem: somewhat crowded front room!
Take a minute to peek at the BSD Project Pix – it’s pretty cool!
I just had to show you this one:

The pattern is Phannie and Kim, from the Monday morning Indoor Playground started it two weeks ago. This is her very first FO ever! I’m so proud of her! She did a great job!
And take a peek at this:

Darla, also from the Monday morning Indoor Playground, knit up this gorgeous Jared Flood Scholar Collar. It’s worked in a Berroco Peruvia Quick on a large-ish needle – simple garter stitch. A super quick knit – and an excellent newbie place to start!
And this….

…this is Julie’s very first knit anything. A very confident crocheter – she braved unfamiliar waters to finish up this scrumptious scarf. I wish you could feel it! Her gauge is perfection!
And even though she was feeling a bit under the weather, Tammy stopped by to drop off some of her gorgeous FO’s – many of which inspired quite a few of the novice crafters at the Indoor Playground!

Don’t quit yet, okay?!
I know the deadline is approaching – but don’t quit.
If you’re nearing completion and feel like it’s not possible to meet the deadline – don’t give up. Even if you have to turn it in a bad late – don’t give up, okay?
We’re so close!
What are the details for Wed at Whole Foods (I am an east-sider)
Thanks!
Kabira
Hi Kabira!
We’ll be meeting at Whole Foods in Tanasborne (http://wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/tanasbourne/) from 7 to 9pm. We meet in the food court – and anyone is welcome to join us! I’ll be there ready, willing, and able to collect finished objects!
I have some finished hats and scarves that my 4th and 5th graders have worked on….it was the first time for all of them. My students have a new hobby (Knifty Knitters they are!) and they are anxious for me to drop them off. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and let me back in school tomorrow. If not, they will be turned in after Thanksgiving! (BTW, one of my knitters is homeless, and I know she is excited for this project). It’s been a great learning experience for all of them. Thank you!
Bryn,
Bless your heart! That is *so* great!
No worries if you can’t make it to turn stuff in until after Thanksgiving. Here is the list of Drop-Off Locations: http://yarnfest.wordpress.com/2010/10/05/drop-off-information/
So great having you and your students a part of this!
Hi Dina,
I am delivering 2 boxes to Knitting Bee on West Union. We have 28 hats, 32 fleece scarves, 3 knitted/crocheted scarves, 2 sets of fingerless mitts and 1 capelet for a total of 66 items. Since we are a new group, we got a late start. Our group, “Willing Hands and Hearts” of Westside Church of Christ, will follow your blog and website and hope to help on future projects. We will probably continue with BSD throughout the winter.
Blessings and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Judy
Judy – you are a *gem*!
Thank you so much!
Keep your eye on the blog – I have a post coming up detailing the next phase of the BSD Project. It’s such a blessing to have you and your group at WCC partnering with us! Bless you!
