Gosh – time has FLOWN!
We only have 2 1/2 weeks left for our Kazakh Orphanage project! The deadline is June 7th. Bring all of your completed projects to the church lobby – Ellen will have a conveniently repurposed Home Depot yard debris bag to deposit your projects in. Jim and company leave on the 14th – they’ll need time to get everything packed and ready for their departure.
Just a reminder about this focus. This orphange is home to 200 children, ages 5 to 17. We are free to provide warm items to any of the children there. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could gift each child with at least one item? Ellen is going to count and let me know how close we are to that goal – there were a LOT of great looking hats, scarves, kerchiefs, etc in the bunch!
So don’t give up yet. If you don’t have whole skeins – then use bits and pieces to make striped or varigated projects. If you’re tired of stockinette, then add some seed stitch in there. The goal is attainable – and I really believe we can do it!
