Please take a moment to read this great article published by the Beaverton Valley Times.  The latest numbers released by Lisa Mentesana of the Beaverton School District reveals that the current census of homeless students in the District is 1,100.  Two hundred twenty-one of these kids are unaccompanied youth.   I – personally – want to never lose sight of the fact that each one of these kids – regardless of their age, gender, religion, nationality – are precious; and everything – anything – that I can do to show God’s love to them – even if it’s something as insignificant as knitting a hat or pair of gloves, is the very least that I can do.
ALSO – even if you don’t live in Beaverton – take a moment to help us raise $5,000.  The City of Beaverton has a great little thing going on through the end of January:
Just a friendly reminder: From now until Jan. 31, for every “like” the City of Beaverton, the Library or the Neighborhood Facebook pages receive, the City will donate $1 to benefit the Oregon Food Bank and homeless youth in the Beaverton School District.
What a great way to make a positive difference!  Pass the word, okay?
